Restoration work at Clachan Comair

The passage of time and the Highland weather have taken its toll on the fabric of the ancient graveyard.  Today it is cared for by a small group of trustees who devote a great deal of time and effort to maintaining Clachan Comar at a standard much appreciated by visitors from home and abroad.

Restoration work is ongoing, and the trustees appreciate the support of local funding bodies, such as Soirbheas and Strathglass Community Fund.   The trustees also acknowledge financial support from the Highland Council and Marydale Church, as well as donations from parishioners and the public.  Some examples of what has been achieved in recent years can be seen in the images below.

Future work……….

Strathglass Heritage Association has long regarded Clachan Comair as an important heritage site.  Visits to the chapel and burial ground have been included in our recent Strathglass Heritage Festival and feature regularly in the annual Highland Archaeology Festival.
